IMO C

The question says the number of amoeba gets doubled after each round hour. i.e., if there is 1 amoeba, it become 2 in next 1 hr, 4 in next 2 hrs and 8 in next 3 hrs and so on. So, after the second hour the number gets increased by a power of 2. So the general form of the solution is 2^n from the second hour.

So when the sequence starts with 2 amoebas, the general form becomes 2 * 2^n i.e., 2^(n+1)

In 1 hour, there will be 2 x 2 = 2^2 Amebas.

In 2 hours, there will be 2^2 x 2 = 2^3 Amebas.

In 3 hours, there will be 2^3 x 2 = 2^4 Amebas.

Notice that in each case, the exponent of 2 is one more than the number of hours in the jar. Therefore, in N hours, there will be 2^(N + 1) Amebas.
