My approach, a bit with intuition:
a) sounds good let's say B = 6 and A = 2 this would mean A) leads to 8
b) can't be better if I subtract 2 from the numerator and add 1 to the denominator, I don't even check this
c) A/B can't also be the largest because A is less then B and therefore this would lead to a fraction below 1 (2 / 6 with our numbers)
d) 4 / 1 = 4 not greater then a)
e) 6 / 2 = 3 not greater then a)
would be my humble opinion, correct me if wrong.
