What source is this?

Never seen something similar to this in any official questions, with the speed of the sound it's imho not a real gmat question because there is too much dots do connect about the physic background.

Could be the case that I missed all those questions so far though.

GS_________________T2_______T1

GS is the point where the gunshots were fired and T1 and T2 the positions of the passenger when he hears the sounds of the 1st and 2nd shots respectively.

CONCEPTUALIZATION:
Let's say he hears the sound of the 1st shot at 4:00 pm. Had the train stopped at T1 and remained stationary, he would have heard the sound of the 2nd shot 10 mins & 30 secs after 4:00 pm (i.e. at 04:10:30 pm) since the 2nd shot was fired 10.5 mins after the 1st. Since the train did not stop at T1 and continued to move forward, he heard the sound of the 2nd shot 10 mins after the 1st i.e at 4:10 pm. So the train traveled the distance between T1 and T2 in 10 mins.
Again, since the sound wave of the 2nd shot reached T2 at 04:10:00 pm and T1 at 04:10:30 pm, we can conclude that the distance between T1 & T2 is: 330 m/s (Speed of sound)*30 secs (Time traveled) = 330*30 meters.

CALCULATION:
Speed of train: (330*30 meters)/(10*60 secs) = (33/2) m/s =59.4 kmph ANS: C
