can you please draw the triangle from the question? I'm having hard time visualizing the triangle. thanks

As you can see the x coordinate of C lies between x coordinates of A and B, which also have y coordinate as 0, so you are looking at an isosceles triangle..

Yes, you can say that AC=BC, but if you had to find the relation between AB and AC, we will have to measure them
