From home to office, if James travels at 3/5th of his usual speed, James is late by 12 minutes. What is the time taken at the reduced speed?

Let speed be x mph
Reduced speed would then be 3/5x mph
T = D/S = D/x (let distance be D and time be T)
D = Tx ....1
Time taken at reduced speed, T+12 = D÷3/5x = 5Dx/3 ....2
Now, put 1 in 2
T+12 = Tx÷3/5x
T+12 = 5T/3
3T+36 = 5T
36 = 2T
T = 18
Therefore, time taken at reduced speed = T+12 = 18+12= 30mins
