From home to office, if James travels at 3/5th of his usual speed, James is late by 12 minutes. What is the time taken at the reduced speed?

A. 21
B. 24
C. 27
D. 30 --> correct: (d/3v/5) = (d/v) + 12; => 2d/3v = 12min => d/v=18min, so (d/3v/5) = (5/3)*(d/v)= (5/3)*18=30min

Speed = 1/Time and vice-versa.
Usual Speed = x and Reduced Speed = 3x/5
Usual Time =1/x and at reduced speed, Time = 5/3x

5/3x – 1/x = 12
2/3x =12

x = 1/18

At reduced Speed , Time = 5/3*(18/1)
= 30(C)
