let present salary of Ron = x and Cathy = y
so new salary ; 3x/5 and 3y/5
given If the sum of their reduced salaries will be equal to Cathy's current salary = > 3x/5 + 3y/5 = y
solve we get 3x=2y
so Ron's current salary is what fraction of Cathy's current salary
x/y = 2/3
