The sum of 25 percent of 36 and 75 percent of 56 equals

A. 23
B. 37
C. 41
D. 51
E. 69

PS21230

Keep a note..
\(25%=\frac{1}{4}\)
\(50%=\frac{1}{2}\)
\(75%=\frac{3}{4}\)
\(33.33..%=\frac{1}{3}\)
\(66.66..%=\frac{2}{3}\)
\(12.5%=\frac{1}{8}\)

sum of 25 percent of 36 and 75 percent of 56=25% of 36+75% of 56=\(\frac{1}{4}*36+\frac{3}{4}*56=9+42=51\)

Just for those learning about Weighted average method. ;)
Here sum of 25 percent of 36 and 75 percent of 56 tells us that we are adding 1 part of 36 with 3 parts of 56, so weighted average tells us =>
\(36+\frac{56-36}{1+3}*3=36+\frac{20}{4}*3=36+15=51\)
