I am so sorry, but I am unable to understand the solution
BrentGMATPrepNow

GIVEN: [x] is the greatest EVEN integer less than or equal x
For example, [8.2] = 8, since 8 is the greatest even integer that is less than (or equal) to 8.2
Likewise, [-1.7] = -2, since -2 is the greatest even integer that is less than (or equal to) -1.7
And [-6.3] = -8, since -8 is the greatest even integer that is less than (or equal to) -6.3

Now onto the question....
[-2.4] + [-3.4] + [2.4] + [3.4] = (-4) + (-4) + 2 + 2 = -4

Answer: A

Greatest even integer less than or equal to x means:

[-2.4] = -4
[-3.4] = -4
[2.4] = 2
[3.4] = 2

Sum = -4 + -4 + 2 + 2 = -4

Answer: A.

Could you please tell me exactly what is unclear, so I know what to elaborate on?

thank you bunuel sir, i was not able to understand "greatest even integer less than or equal to x", now you have explained it thoroughly where its clear why -2.4 = -4 because it cannot be equal to -2 and the nearest even value is -4, similar for 2.4 and 3.4 which is 4 but cannot be 4. Thus -4 + -4 + 2 + 2 = -4 ans. Thank you so much
Bunuel
