Average of two numbers = 2x
Sum of two numbers = \(2 \times 2x = 4x\)

Now the sum of y and other number must be 4x
other number \(= 4x - y \)

if the number is taken as z
z+y = 2x*2
= 4x
z = 4x - y

Answer is E
