Explanation:
Average = 89
Sum of all test number = 89*6 = 534

Highest he can get is 100 in 5 test, so lowest for 6th test = 534 - 500 = 34
Lowest he can get is 90 in 5 test, so highest for 6th test = 534 - 450 = 84
So, 6th test range is = 34 to 84
All satisfy.

Benjamin’s average (arithmetic mean) on the six biology tests he took last semester was 89. On each of his first five tests, his grade was between 90 and 100, inclusive. Which of the following could have been his grade on his sixth test?

I. 35
II. 65
III. 75

(A) I only
(B) III only
(C) I and II only
(D) I and III only
(E) I, II, and III

Hello!
Using another approach

The total is :- 89 x 6 = 534

Plugging in I, II, III,
We get,

1. Subtract 35,
534-35= 499
499/5= 99.8

2. Subtract 65,
534-65= 469
469/5= 93.8

3. Subtract 75,
534- 75=459
459/5= 91.8

Three of the statements provide numbers making it obvious for it to be between 90 and 100.

So, it is very evident that there are 3 possible answers for Benjamin's grade in the sixth test!

IMO,
Answer:- Option E

Thank you!

Raunak Damle :)
