Let Hot Dogs = D and Hamburgers = H

D + H = 27

Therefore H = 27 - D...(1)

3.5D + 5H = 118.5 ... (2)


Putting (1) in (2), we get 3.5D + 5(27 - D) = 118.5

3.5ED + 135 - 5D = 118.5

1.5D = 16.5

D = 11

3.5x+5(27-x)=118.5
3.5x+135-5x=118.5
