If m is a positive integer and n is an even prime number, which of the following can be the GCD of 20m and 6n?

A. 2
B. 4
C. 6
D. 10
E. 30

n= can only be 2
so 6n= 12
All factors of 12 = 1*2*3*4*6*12 ( GCD of 6n and 20m has to be one among these )
if m is 1 then GCD= 4
If m =2 then GCD= 4
if m =3 then GCD= 6

Hence among the options the greatest value of GCD that is possible is 6

IMO C

Hope it's clear.

Hi,

The GCF when m=3 will be 12.

60=2*2*3*5 and 12=2*2*3 so, 2^2*3=12.

Thus I think the answer has to be 4.

Thank you :)

Right , when m=3 then GCD is indeed 12 Goof up from my part. Thanks.
