Engine revolved 200 cycles in 1 Min. It worked for 12.5 minutes.
Hence total number of cycles is 200*12.5 = 2500 Cycles.
During this period it consumed 10,000 milliliters of fuel.
Hence for 1 cycle fuel consumed is 10,000/2500 = 4 milliliters

Hence IMO Option E is correct choice.

\(12.5 minutes\) * \(\frac{200 cycles }{minute}\) = 2500 cycles
\(\frac{10000 mL }{ 2500 cycles}\) = \(\frac{4 mL }{ cycle}\)
Ans = E

Solution

Given
• An industrial engine worked for 12.5 minutes
• It revolved at 200 cycles per minute
• It consumed 10,000 ml of fuel

To find
• The fuel consumed by the engine per cycle

Approach and Working out
• Number of cycles the engine revolved in 1 minute = 200
    o So, the number of cycles the engine revolved in 12.5 minutes = 200 * 12.5 = 2500
• Total fuel consumed in all 2500 cycles = 10,000 ml
    o Thus, fuel consumed in all 1 cycle = (10,000/2500) ml = 4 ml

Correct Answer: Option E
