My approach was to divide the 63 min into 7 periods, cuz we are told that the trip A to B is 3/4 of trip B to A , hence A to B and B to A completes a total of 7 slots of time.

Total time is 63 min, total periods is 7

Then we divide 63/7 = 9

A to B is 3 periods

and 9 X 3 = 27 min

Hope it helps.

A:B=3X
B:A=4X
A:B + B:A=63
3X + 4X =63
7X=63
X=9
SO 3X VALUE IS =3*9=27
B>A

Saul ran from point A to point B and then back again by the same route in 63 minutes. It took Saul 3/4 as much time to run from point A to point B as it took him to run from point B to point A. The number of minutes Saul’s point A to point B run took is

A. 25 minutes
B. 26 minutes
C. 27 minutes
D. 28 minutes
E. 30 minutes
time took to travel B to A = T , then A to B would be 3T/4, Adding these times would give us (63*4)/7 i.e. 27 mins

Lets call x the time Saul took from B to A and (3/4)x from A to B. It has to be x + (3/4)x = 63. Solving for x we obtain x = 36 but we want the time Saul took to go from point A to B, wich is (3/4)x = (3/4)36 = 27 mins
