(A) 21
(B) 24
(C) 28
(D) 84
(E) 96
Let the numbers are 3x and 4x.
LCM(3x,4x) = 3*4*x = 12x = 84
x = 7

Greater number = 4*7 = 28

Given: Two positive integers are in the ratio 3:4. Their least common multiple is 84.
Asked: What is the value of the greater number ?

Let the positive integers be 3x & 4x.
Least common multiple of 3x & 4x = 12x = 84
x = 84/12 = 7

The greater number = 4x = 4&7 = 28

IMO C
