The integers 573921 and 575713 when divided by a 3 digit number leave the same remainder. What is that 3 digit number?
Difference between 573921 and 575713 =1792(This should be divisible by the 3 digit number)
1792 is divisible by 256
Hence C

If two numbers, say x and y, are divisible by z, then the sum, x+y, and the difference, x-y, will also be divisible by z.
Say the remainder in each case be w, so 573921-w and 575713-w will be divisible by the 3-digit number, say t.
Also their difference will be divisible by t => 575713-w-(573921-w) or 1792 will be divisible by the 3-digit number, say t.
Now \(1792=2*896=2*2*448=2*2*2*224=2*2*2*2*112=2*2*2*2*2*56=2^8*7=256*7\)
So t could be 896, 448, 224, 112 or 256.
256 is in the choice
