Deconstructing the Question

The recipe requires:

4 cans of water + 1 can of broth.

Each can is 16 ounces.

So one full batch uses:

\(5 \times 16 = 80\) ounces.

Step-by-step

We need 560 ounces of soup.

Number of batches:

\(\frac{560}{80} = 7\)

Each batch requires 4 cans of water:

\(7 \times 4 = 28\)
