According to the logic {x} is the remainder for x/4.
Hence {17} = remainder of 17/4 = 1; {5} = remainder of 5/4 = 1; {27} = remainder of 27/4 = 3. Now the equation is - (1+1)*3 = 6 (C)
Hence {17} = remainder of 17/4 = 1; {5} = remainder of 5/4 = 1; {27} = remainder of 27/4 = 3. Now the equation is - (1+1)*3 = 6 (C)

({17} + {5})*{27}= ({4*4+1} + {4*1+1})*{4*6+3}
Just taking the excess or remainders
\((1+1)*3=2*3=6\)
