Price for cucumber = $ c
Price for pepper = $ p
Given ⇒ \(c \neq p\)
If Roy charges $6.00 for 3 cucumbers and 8 peppers
\(3c + 8p = 6\) --- (1)
$3.20 for 2 cucumbers and 4 peppers
\(2c + 4p = 3.2\)
Multiplying both sides by 2, we get
\(4c + 8p = 6.4\) --- (2)
From (1) and (2) we get -
- \(c = 0.4\)
- \(y = 0.6\)
\(3c + 5p = (3*0.4) + (5*0.6) = 1.2 + 3.0 = 4.20\)

3C + 5P = ?
Multiply by 2 & 3, we get
6C + 16P = $12
6C + 12P = $9.6
Difference
4P = $2.4
P = $0.6
2C + 4*$0.6 = $3.2
2C = $3.2 – $2.4 = $0.8 >> C = $0.4
3($0.4) + 5($0.6) = 1.2 + 3 = $4.2
