Sugar:Flour = 3:5 also can be written as 3x & 5x, respectively. Since we know from the stem that 12 cups of sugar are being used, we can solve 3x = 12 -> x =4
To determine the amount of flour used, we can plug in 4 into 5x -> 5(4) = 20
