First day fine = $0.2
Fine on the second day = $0.3
Fine on the third day = $ 0.4
Till it reaches 1. It takes 8 days to reach 1. So a total of 9 days.
Total sum till 9 days
= (n/2) * ( first term + last term)
= (9/2)* (0.2 + 1)
= 9* 0.6
= $5.4
From tenth day to 14th day, the value is $1 per day. So, total = 5* $1 = $5
Total sum = $5 + $5.4 = $10.4
