In the xy-plane, what is the slope of line l?
(1) Line l dose not intersect the line with equation y = 1 - x.
(2) Line l intersects the line with equation y = x – 1.

(2) Line l intersects the line with equation y = x – 1.
Does it mean that from1- line l is parallel to given line, hence same slope?

In the xy-plane, what is the slope of line l?
(1) Line l dose not intersect the line with equation y = 1 - x --> if the lines do not intersect in the xy-plane, then they are parallel. Parallel lines have the same slope, hence the slope of L=-1. Sufficient.
(2) Line l intersects the line with equation y = x – 1 --> there are infinitely many lines, with different slopes, which intersect with the line y=x-1. Not sufficient.
Answer: A.

if two lines do not intersect then they are must parallel and their slopes are equal.
