Is b = 6?

(1) 9b is not an even integer.
(2) 4b is not an even integer.

This one is really testing your language skills, and your ability to determine the total set of possibilities for b.

(1) 9b is not an even integer.
If 9b is not an even integer, then b cannot possibly be 6, because 9*6 = 54 which is an even integer. Sufficient.

(2) 4b is not an even integer How can 4b possibly be not an even integer if 4 is always even? b must NOT be an integer.
Therefore, b cannot be 6. Sufficient.

Either option is sufficient.
