We cannot determine that he consumed only 1100 calories on that particular day from statement 2.

St1: 9F + 4P + 4C = 1100
F : P : C cannot be determined
Not Sufficient

St2: Dinner + Breakfast = 9 * 60 + 4 * 40 + 4 * 100 = 540 + 160 + 400 = 1100
We do not know about the calories consumed in total on Tuesday.
Not Sufficient

Combining St1 and St2, we know the total calories consumed and the amount of intake of F, P and C.
Sufficient.

Answer: C

Why its not B?

We can get to the total of 1100 calorie from statement 2.

→ Statement 2 tells us about breakfast and dinner. Now Daya may well have breakfast and dinner only, but what if Daya has lunch too? In essence, statement 2 does not tell us about the TOTAL calories consumed in the day, hence this statement is INSUFFICIENT.

→ When combining the statements, we now know for a fact that Daya consumed 1100 calories on Tuesday, which confirms that breakfast and dinner were the only meals for Tuesday. Now the answer to the question "did Daya follow the Moulant Diet plan on Tuesday?" can definitely be answered with a YES or a NO, but NOT MAYBE. Hence, when combining, the statements are SUFFICIENT to answer the question and the answer is option C.
