As far as this question is concerned, it is flawed..
a) statement I gives z as 13..
So 13+17 is div by 5... Ans NO
Sufficient
B) statement II gives X as mutiple of 25 and. Hence of 5, so 17 div by 5 leaves a remainder 2
Ans YES
Sufficient
D but both give contradictory answers ..
What is the source? Please don't post from it.

please correct me if I am wrong, Data sufficiency statements should give same answer is it a required condition?
you should get one answer whether yes or no but only one from each statement then it should be sufficient.
this is my understanding.
