If x is a decimal, What is the hundredths digit of x?

1. The units digit of \((x10^2)\) is 7
2. The thousands digit of \((x10^4)\) is7

Let x = 0.abcd

Tenths digit is a
Hundredths is b

If x*10^2 = 7
That means 0.abcd = ab.cd
B is the units digit and that equals 7.

Sufficient.

Now for statement 2)
0.abcd * 10^4 = abcd

That means a is 7. We are not looking for a rather we are looking for b.

Insufficient.

Answer choice A

That makes so much sense thank you SO VERY MUCH! I think my issue was being unable to think mentally of x as 0.abcd
