We have enough information to calculate the area of the pie/circle but not enough information to get the area of the shaded region, thus E is the correct answer choice.

The figure above shows the top of a circular cake with a slice removed. The shaded region on top of the cake is the remaining part of a circular decoration that was centered on the cake. What is the area of the shaded region?

(1) P was the center of the top of the cake before the slice was removed and the angle of the slice, RPS, is 60°.

This tells us that the slice removed was 1/6th of the cake. However, we can't determine the area of the circular decoration portion removed. INSUFFICIENT.

(2) PR = PS = 11 centimeters

We can't determine the circular decoration portion. INSUFFICIENT.

(1&2) With the statements combined, we still can't determine the circular decoration portion of the cake. INSUFFICIENT.

Answer is E.

(2) PR = PS = 11 centimeters

(1) Radius is not given. Insufficient

(2) Angle is not given; Insufficient.

Considering Both:

Area of the sector of big circle \(= \pi r^2=\frac{60}{360}* \pi r^2= \pi r^2=\frac{1}{6}* \pi 11^2\)

But no relation between the big circle and the shaded region is given.

Insufficient.

The answer is \(E\)
