If x is a 7-digit positive integer, what is the thousandths digit of x/10000 ?

Let the number be abcdefg, where each alphabet stands for a digit...
\(\frac{abcdefg}{10000}=abc.defg\)...Here, g is the thousandths digit.
So, we are looking for the units digit of x.


(i) Units digit of x/100 is 2.
\(\frac{abcdefg}{100}=abcde.fg\), so e is 2.
But, we cannot find the value of g.

(ii) x/100 when rounded to nearest integer, units digit of the newly obtained rounded value is 3.
\(\frac{abcdefg}{100}=abcde.fg=abcd(e+1)\).
But, we cannot find the value of g.


Combined..
e is 2, so f is greater than 4...\(f\geq{5}\)..
But, we cannot find the value of g.

chetan2u - I think the thousandths digit will be \(f\) (\(abc.defg\)) and not \(g\), right?

The final answer will continue to be E but the working will change
