An ice cream shop will make sundaes using any combination of ice cream flavors, including chocolate and vanilla. On a certain day, the manager noted that 80% of the sundaes made included chocolate ice cream and 20% of the sundaes made included both chocolate and vanilla ice cream. How many of the sundaes made that day did NOT include chocolate nor vanilla ice cream?
(1) 20 of the sundaes included vanilla but not chocolate.
(2) 140 of the sundaes did not include vanilla.

Let Only Vanilla be V, Only Chocolate be C, both be B and neither be N..
SO, V+C+B+N=T......V+0.8T+N=T.....0.2T=V+N... since chocolate = C+B=80% of T
We have to find N..
(1) 20 of the sundaes included vanilla but not chocolate.
V=20.....0.2T=20+N
(2) 140 of the sundaes did not include vanilla.
C+N=140.....0.6T+N=140, as Only chocolate = C = C+B-B=0.8T-0.2T=0.6T
Combined..
0.2T=20+N......0.6T=60+3N and 0.6T+N=140
60+3N+N=140......4N=80....N=20
