Let X be the number of total professors,

Given PA = 2/3* X . PF = 1/3* X.

Statement 1.

No of finance professors who do out side consulting is 1/3rd of them.

Ie . 1/3*x*1/3 = 1/9*x , who don't do consulting = 2/9*x. , we don't know any thing of Accounting professors , we only the
total number interms of X, so we cannot solve.

Insufficient.

Statement 2.

Given ratios those who do consulting in accounting and finance. i.e 3:4, let it be 3y and 4y.

we cannot solve as nothing about who don't do is given and we can't find a relation to solve. Insufficient

Combining,

Here we can use the finance ratio 3y and compare it to 1/9 * x , So we get a relation between x and y here, from that we can find 4y of accountants who do consulting and using 2/3*x ( total) we can fine who don't do.

Now we can solve the numbers to get the ratio. OPTION C
