Question: is q divisible by 6 I.e. divisible by 2 and 3 both?
Statement 1: 5q is divisible by 10
Case 1: 5q = 10, then q = 1/2 I.e. answer to the question is NO
Case 2: 5q = 60, then q = 12 I.e. answer to the question is YES
NOT SUFFICIENT
Statement 2: 3 is a factor of q + 3
I.e. q is a multiple of 3 as well
But q may be 3 or 6 I.e. answering the question as NO and YES both hence
NOT SUFFICIENT
Combining the two statements
5q= multiple of 5 as well as a multiple of 3 as well s a multiple of 2
I.e. q must be a multiple of 2 and 3 both I.e. a multiple of 6 hence
SUFFICIENT
Answer: Option C

5q = 10*k; where k is any integer
q = 2*k.
This confirms 2 is a factor of q, but we don't know whether 3 is also a factor of q in order for q to be divisible by 6.
not sufficient
statement 2:
q+3 = 3*k; q = 3(k-1)
this confirms 3 is factor of q, but we don't know whether 2 is also a factor of q in order for q to be divisible by 6.
not sufficient.
combining both statements,
2 & 3 are factors of q. so q is divisible by 6.
