IMO A

Statement 1:
(6x-3)^2 = 0
6x-3 = 0
x = 1/2
Definite answer will give only one solution

Statement 2:
x^2 - 0.25 = 0
x^2 = 0.25
x = + 0.5 OR -0.5

Multiple solutions to question

So answer is A

Bunuel

What is the value of (x - 0.5)?

(1) (6x - 3)^2 = 0 --> 6x - 3 =0 --> x = 1/2. Sufficient.

(2) x^2 - 0.25 = 0 --> x^2 = 0.25 --> x = 0.5 or x = -0.5. Not sufficient.

Answer: A.
