Of course you don’t need to do all the steps, but I need to be didactic.
In the real test this is the kind of question that you could do some kind of assumptions and “guess”.
Remember: to have 700 or more you need to get right 90% of the easy questions, 80% of the medium questions and 65% of the hard question.

let x be number of gallons in 1985, let y be the $ per gallon
given xy=$1200
from A, we can deduce that we have 1.1x gallons of water, so the price will be 1.1xy = 1.1*1200
so A is sufficient right....please clarify where I am going wrong
