The answer according to me, should be B since
Given:
X:Y:Z
x:3:4
This suggests that Z>Y
(1) Y received less number of votes than X.
If Y is less than X, X can either be equal to Z or more than Z

Z received less than X means X is bigger than Z and it is given that Z is already bigger than Y so
B is suff

Given, X, Y and Z were the only candidates in a certain election.
Assume X, Y and Z are the votes received by each respectively, and Y : Z = 3 : 4. This shows z got more votes than y.
Therefore Z > Y but we dont know about X.
Lets check from given conditions.
1st- Y received less number of votes than X.
Therefore X > Y but it doesnt says anything with respect Z. Hence not sufficient.
2nd- Z received less number of votes than X.
Therefore, X > Z and as per given condition we already know Z > Y.
Hence X > Z > Y. Sufficient.
Answer B.
