Which weekday is the last day of the year?

(1) That year has 53 Sundays and 53 Saturdays.
(2) That year is a leap year.

hi Bunuel,
could you help with how to calculate this? I didnt understand how to solve this question

All I could understand is that 53 Saturdays and Sundays means its a leap year => leap years mean 366 days, and 2 days over 52 full weeks. Same interpretation for Statement II.

On analysing what I can understand further is that,
We need 53 saturdays AND Sundays,
Statement I: If we start the year with a saturday, it will end on Monday. But it will have 53 saturdays and sundays.
Statement II: It will end on starting day + 2
Thank you for your help!

For (1): If the last day of a leap year is Monday, the year would also have 53 Mondays in addition to 53 Sundays and 53 Saturdays, making the total number of days 367, which is impossible. Using similar logic, no day except Sunday can be the last day of that year.
