Hi,
Just got results from my second attempt. Have a dilemma what score to submit:
Attempt 1: R-29 L-27 S-26 W-25 Total:107
Attempt 2: R-27 L-30 S-23 W-28 Total:108
Think Harvard is out of my list now, as 108 is not a 109 and I don't really want to retake TOEFL again.
An issue now is what score to submit to other schools. In first attempt I have lower total score (107) but all sections 25+; In second: one point better overall (108) but miserable S-23.

I would pick the first score of were you.
One point difference in the overall score doesn't make a big impact. Coz most schools except HBS and Stanford require 100+ score.
Anyways, some of those schools require that you score at least 25 in every section. And the first score just fit this criteria.

I would say that the overall score is more important than the distribution. Think about it from a school perspective. What could be easier to differentiate me from you, overall score or distribution? I wouldn't think about distrubution unless there requirements directly stated by the school. I know only two schools which pay attention to it - Cambridge and Oxford but their minimum is 109. So, with 108 it is not your problem.
By the way I have the same Toefl score, got it last month. Luckily, I have IELTS with 7.5, so I am in for HBS.
