Hi,
I would like to receive profile evaluations. I'm planning to apply for MIM at IESEG, Audencia and Trinity, MIB at Grenoble.

AGE: 21
GRADUATED: June 2020
College: Chandigarh University
Course: BBA
CGPA: 8.9, Two times branch topper
IELTS: 6.5
GRE/ GMAT: not planning to take as I don't think I'll be able to score above 310 in GRE.
12 percentage: 87%
10th CGPA: 9.8

Internships:
1. Walt Disney World,Florida- 3 months intern
2. Aviation startup, gurgaon- 2 months intern

EXTRACURRICULAR:
1. I was a part of my college's student development center and therefore have organised number of programs and events in university and inter university level. Also participated in debate competitions.
2. I was a head girl in my 12th standard, I also secured 112 rank in national english olympiad. I have also won many debate competitions.
3. I have also won a medal at state level swimming competition in freestyle.
4. Director - Literary Club
5. Runner up in Oppo Fresh Face Chandigarh

I feel my IELTS score of 6.5 is less, do you feel it would be worth giving it again to get a score of 7/7.5?
Can you please evaluate my profile and tell if I would be able to get MIM at IESEG, Audencia and Trinity, MIB at Grenoble?

Please also recommend me some other colleges where I can apply with my profile.

Hi

I am currently pursuing a dual degree in BE manufacturing and MSc Biology at BITS Pilani, India. I plan to apply for MiM in Europe. I'm looking for low tuition courses mostly. So my target schools include Vlerick Business School (Belgium), Antwerp Management School (Belgium), Kozminski University(Poland) and Maastricht University (Netherlands). I'm not targeting any of the top schools as their fees is considerably higher. Do you think I'm making a mistake here? I plan to work in Europe for 3-4 years after the degree and eventually work in India. So is it a wise choice to target local top schools?

It'd really help if you could evaluate my profile. I am yet to take GMAT but I am confident about scoring my target.

So, here's my profile.

GMAT ~ 700-720
CGPA at the time of application ~ 6.1-6.2/10
Experience working at a startup for about 8 months.
A learning internship in Marketing Management.
A content writing internship for 2 months.
I'll be doing one more internship before applying.
Beginning German course with a Satisfactory Grade (Out of satisfactory and unsatisfactory)
Courses in Finance like Fundamentals of Financial Accounting; Derivatives and Risk Management; Securities and Portfolio Management.

If it matters -
10th Std- 10 CGPA
12th Std- 90%

What are my chances? I know my academics are lacking. Anything constructive towards a better profile? Also what are my chances if I apply to ESCP or Esade?

Also, do I need to take IELTS if my college gives me a transcript stating that all courses were conducted in English? The college admissions do accept the transcript and hence no need for IELTS. But I read in some forums that IELTS is still required for VISA. Any leads would be really helpful!

Thanks!

I'd really appreciate your help

Hi yashj,
Well your profile is pretty good -UG Rank is good, Dual specialization is interesting, Work experience is fair as well. The GPA however is on the lower end.
I completely understand that that budget is a constraint, but it is never a good idea to target lower ranked schools for flexible tuition fees. For an international applicant, the ROI of the program is directly linked to the brand of the school so would not suggest you to compromise here. In most cases, this is a terminal education investment and and the additional amount you are going to incur is significantly worth it as at the end of the day, as you get better opportunities at well ranked schools.
You can look into Scholarships, RA/TA opportunities, etc to finance your studies abroad.
IELTS is more of a screening criteria than a selection criteria, so a 7.5+ score should be sufficient if you do not get a IELTS/TOEFL Waiver (I recommed you to apply for the waiver though, would save you both time and money)

A few constructive things for your profile are - The final internship that you are going to take try to take it with a good brand name like the Big 4. And do engage in some social volunteering activity as schools highly value community development projects.

I would suggest you to take up this quick profile evaluation to get in-depth insights on your profile strengths, weaknesses and improvements : https://www.mim-essay.com/profile-evalu ... evaluation

Hey KeerthanaM08,

Let me begin by mentioning that you have been excellent in academics and with a CGPA of 8.5, you can target all the good schools in the world.

VTU is a good institution, however competing with IIT and NIT students would be tough. To make up for it, quantification is needed in your profile. You can quantify efficiency improvement, maybe you led some teams or saved some manpower. The highlight of your profile will be your experience at your father’s organisation and it will add more points in your profile. You can showcase that you were leading teams, maybe you change the processes and digitised everything.

Joining an MNC or working with foreign clients will give a boost to your profile. In fact, Rotaract and NGO experience enhance your profile. You can try joining numerous clubs in your university to diversify your profile. To add more points, you can up courses from Udemy or Coursera that align with your goals..

Then you can definitely look at schools like:

1. HEC Paris
2. INSEAD
3. IE Business School
4. ESSEC
5. ESADE
6. LBS
7. LSE
8. Imperial

Your expected score will work out, but definitely try aiming for a 700.

If you need more help, we'd be happy to setup a call and give more pointers on how to improve your profile and the right schools you should target.

I am at a crucial crossroads in my academic and professional journey and would appreciate your insights on the best path forward.
I have a bachelor's degree in Accounting and Finance (CGPA - 9.8/10) from the University of Mumbai and have completed the US CMA certification (score: 880/1000). Additionally, I have about a year of work experience in Real Estate Valuation. My GMAT Focus score is 565, and my IELTS score is 7.5.
My long-term goal is to build a career in Investment Banking, Private Equity, or Valuation. Initially, I would like to work in the USA or Canada (without a strong preference between the two), gain about five years of experience, and then transition to the UAE or Saudi Arabia, where I can earn a high paycheck.
Currently, I have an offer from UT Dallas for the MS Finance program, and I am awaiting decisions from Boston College (MS Finance), HEC Montreal (MS Finance), and ESSEC (Masters in Finance). I also received an offer from EDHEC for their MIM Finance program but declined it due to budget constraints, as I prefer to avoid significant debt and would only consider a manageable loan (around 15 Lakhs INR max) and my parents are ready to provide about 20 Lakhs for my education.
Given my situation, I was considering applying to Babson College's MS Finance program and, since Smith School of Business's Master in Management Finance program is closed this year, waiting until the next intake to apply.
However, I am unsure of the best course of action.
1. Should I move forward with additional applications, wait for the decisions I am expecting, or explore other options?
2. Based on my background and goals, what would you suggest as the best path forward and the best University?
3. I am open to any insights or recommendations you may have.
Thank You
