ESCP Interview Debrief – My ExperienceInterview StructureThe interview was
simple, conversational, and CV-driven, exactly as mentioned in the invite email.
There were
three interviewers on the panel, and the discussion lasted around
20–25 minutes.
Initial Technical IssueI initially faced a
technical issue and was unable to join the call on time. I immediately informed the admissions team via email, and they responded promptly. I was able to join the interview
around 15 minutes later.
The panel remained
calm and understanding, and it seemed the issue was not entirely from my end.
Interview Flow & QuestionsThe interview followed a
very structured flow, covering:
- Introduction
- Why ESCP
- Extracurricular activities outside the CV
- Short-term and long-term career goals
- Other universities applied to
- International exposure (if any)
- View on India–US relations and future outlook
Interestingly, the panel did
not ask direct questions in a typical Q&A format.
Instead, they
selected key points from my essays and CV and asked me to
expand on, explain, or reflect on them.
What the Panel Was Really AssessingWhat the Panel Was Really Assessing
The focus was clearly on:
- Understanding me beyond my CV
- Checking whether the stories in my essays were organic and authentic
- Ensuring there was alignment between my background, motivations, and goals
There were
no stress or technical questions, the conversation felt more like a
guided discussion.
Overall Tone & Experience- Calm and professional panel
- No pressure or rapid questioning
- Very essay-driven and reflective
- Emphasis on clarity of thought and honesty
Key Takeaways for Future Applicants- Know your essays inside out, every line can be discussed
- Be honest and consistent; fabricated stories won’t hold
- Stay calm if technical issues happen, communication matters
- ESCP genuinely tries to understand the person, not just the profile
Final ThoughtsOverall, it was a
short, smooth, and thoughtful interview focused on authenticity rather than grilling. If your essays truly reflect your journey and goals, the interview becomes a natural conversation.
