Campus France Interview DebriefThe Campus France interview was primarily a
document verification and intent validation process, rather than a highly technical or stressful interview.
1. Document Verification- The interviewer carefully checks all submitted documents.
- Carry all original documents (mark sheets, certificates, admission letters, etc.).
- They may cross-verify details with what you uploaded on the portal.
Tip: Missing originals can create unnecessary friction.
2. CV-Based Questions- A major part of the interview revolves around your CV timeline.
- Questions are asked verbally, such as:
- What did you do during specific periods?
- Explain your internships/projects
- Any gaps or transitions
Tip: Be very clear and confident about
every point on your CV.
3. Why France?A standard but important question:
- Why not another country?
- Why France specifically, for your field?
4. Career GoalsThey check the clarity of direction:
- Short-term goals (post-degree role, skills)
- Long-term goals (career vision)
Tip: Keep it structured and realistic.
5
. University Choices- Which universities have you applied to?
- Why these specific ones?
They want to see if your choices are
well-researched, not random.
6. About ESSEC Business SchoolSpecific questions included:
- What accreditations does ESSEC have?
- Why did you choose ESSEC?
- In which region is it located?
Strong points to mention:
- Triple accreditation (AACSB, EQUIS, AMBA)
- Global reputation
- Strong MiM program structure
7. “2-Year Program Concern.”
A slightly tricky question:
Quote:
ESSEC is a 2-year program. Many see it as a hindrance since you’re out of the job market—what do you think?
How to approach:
- Reframe it as an investment, not a gap
- Highlight:
- Internships/apprenticeships during the program
- Skill-building + global exposure
- Better long-term career acceleration
Overall Experience
- Smooth and structured
- Focused more on authenticity and clarity rather than grilling
- If your documents + story are aligned, it’s straightforward
