ya that's what i'm assuming made the diffrence, should have invested 1 more minute in there and that should have solved it.

"4. What is the penalty if I miss every third question?
Experiment: I will try to test a scenario in which a test takers answers every third question incorrectly (e.g. 3, 6, 9, etc. Thus giving themselves an extra 2 mins on quant). This scenario will simulate someone who takes 3 mins instead of 2 per question and then guesses every third question. Please note that this is the worst case scenario (we do not get any guesses right)
Methodology: Every 3rd questions answered incorrectly. So, 13 incorrect and 24 correct answers.
Results: Q49, 85th percentile
Analysis: Slightly lower score than in the case of missing the last 10 questions but it was much less effort in getting here(fewer hard questions than in the second or third scenarios I have tested). So far this is the best value in terms of effort/final score
Total Score: This time every question in the verbal section was answered as "C" this time and it resulted in the final score of V8, 1st percentile. Total score: 460, 23rd percentile."

thats interesting, i wish i knew this earlier since Q49 is much more then what i need :p

I would like to say two things:

1. The scoring algorithm is discussed here: https://www.gmatclub.com/forum/veritas-prep-resource-links-no-longer-available-399979.html#/2010/08 ... algorithm/
It will give you an idea of what goes on inside the white box after you click 'next'.

2. Do not make strategies based on GMAT prep test algorithm. Think about it - actual GMAT algorithm is tweaked every time GMAC finds even a tiniest flaw - this could be every 2 months, every month or even every week. So the GMAT prep test algorithm is probably based on a very old version of GMAT algorithm. Also, the current crop of questions is supposedly harder than the previous ones. The GMAT prep tests give you a feel for the test, little else. I would be surprised if someone scoring 700 in practice tests actually got 550 but I know it could still be explained. So because it happened in a particular way in GMAT prep test, do not expect it to happen the same way in actual GMAT. Try to answer every question to the best of your ability using limited time. If you find that you are constantly short on time, use more reasonable but generic strategies discussed here: https://www.gmatclub.com/forum/veritas-prep-resource-links-no-longer-available-399979.html#/2010/10 ... for-field/
