Hi Atul,

I think that you plan for the next week makes sense. You're going to come to find that whatever long-term plan you put together will require some flexibility on your part. 'Review' is a big part of this process and you'll come to find that you have to spend more time on certain areas than you initially think you will. Once you have your next CAT results, we can go from there.

GMAT assassins aren't born, they're made,

Hello Experts,

I am a technology graduate from India, want to appear for GMAT exam in next 4 months.
I have given Veritas free Diagnostic test and scored 570 (Q35, V34).
My target score is 700 & I have already bought Manhattan Strategy guides, OG13 & OG verbal & Quant review books. Planning to give MGMAT CAT1 diagnostic this week.
Request you to guide me for making a study plan for next 3 months with these guides. Please suggest if I need additional resources.
My work timing is approx 8.5 hours a day (5 days a week). I can study daily 2 hours & 4 hours on weekend.

Thanks & Regards
Atul

Hi Atul,

Four months is sufficient enough to prepare well for GMAT.However, this will not happen without a planning a proper strategy, as it gives direction to your preparation and help you to assess your performance well. We would advice you to follow the below steps to score well in your GMAT.

1. Start with a mock test. This will help you identify your strong and weak areas
2. If you plan to do self study, get your hands on the best preparatory material available in the market. You can speak to your seniors, get feedback on forums like pagalguy to seek out the best in the market
3. Joining a coaching institute or a study group is recommended because it gives a structure to your preparation and keeps you motivated all the time. Remember cracking GMAT is not just about working hard but working smart as well
4. Make a study time table for yourself that suits you best. You can start with spending 2 hours every day and as you move closer to your test date, start increasing your study hours
5. Keep taking mock tests in real test taking situations. However, more important than taking a mock test is to analyse your performance in the same. If you spend two hours on a mock test, spend six hours in analysing the same.
6. Figure out ways by which you can continuously keep improving your score
7. Make sure you stay consistent with your schedule. This is extremely important
