Hi All,
I am preparing for GMAT. I haven't yet finalised on B-schools to apply. I need to select the B-schools based on chances I will have at getting admit and course.
Please review my profile and suggest whether I have a good chance at any B-school in US/Europe.
Indian Female
Age = 25 years
Education:
- Indian engineering graduate: B.E (Computer Science ) from VTU Belgaum : 66 / 100 (University didn't have GPA/percentile system) in 2011
- Class XII: 86% (Maharashtra State Board)
- Class X: 77%
Work Experince:
- I worked for 13 months in a Software company as Software developer from May 2012 to May 2013. SInce then I have been jobless
due to some family commitments.
Extra-curricular activities:
-Secured various prizes in debate contests during school and college time.
I think it's pretty messed up. I am a bit late to start studying and pursuing this goal.
Long term plan is to start my own venture, short term plan is to earn for that.
Please tell whether I really stand a chance of getting admission at good B-school or I should just try improve my profile by giving some more years
and gain some work experience.

Hi:
You should take time to build your profile. I speak from experience. I took my GMAT in 2011 and I waited for four years to build my profile. This is the most intelligent thing that I have done all my life.

The process of applying to, and attending, an MBA program is a big commitment of time, money and effort, so you really have to put more thought into your plans than just "applying where you have the best chance to get in."
To that end, you have to define your goals and 'parameters', including (but not limited to):
1) What do you want your MBA to do for you?
2) Is there are particular industry or company that you want to work in/for?
3) Are you willing to relocate for School? Would you be comfortable if most of your classes were online?
4) Are you going to be applying for a scholarship?
Etc.
Once you define the variables, you should be better able to research the Schools/Programs that will best fit YOUR wants/needs. Once you've narrowed down the list of potential Schools, an Admissions Expert should be better able to advise you on the strength of your overall profile and your 'chances.'
