Hi All,

I have booked my GMAT date as 22 November 2017.
I gave a mock test before starting my preparation and landed on 380.
I studied for about about one month ( not full time as am a working professional) but almost finished my OGs and I was able to crack questions.
When I took my second mock I got 470 and this has really made me nervous and I feel something is wrong somewhere.
Also am not able to crack what is my weakness.
I got Q18 and V17.
I know my RC lacks but not able to understand what is going on in my Quants.
Also the difficulty level of Gmat Prep Test is much higher than OGs.

Any advice so that I can get on 710?

Thanks :)

Make a habit of solving Quants questions daily on Gmat club as its quants is way too good ..
and slowly increase your level
see the questions based on tags from this link -> https://gmatclub.com/forum/search.php?view=search_tags
for 1st week try solving 600 level questions
next 2 weeks 650 level
for 4th week try solving 700 only and
Apart from it revise first your basic concepts of verbal like SC and solve CR and RC on daily basis
Repeat same for verbal from the link https://gmatclub.com/forum/search.php?view=search_tags

I hope this process might help you in increasing your score , cant say >700 but likely >600
and give mocks on 3-4 day basis to check your improvement and learn from your mistakes - dont repeat them

All the best for your preparation

Hi,

I would like to ask you a few questions before I can help you properly. Firstly, when you were writing the mock, did you feel your problem was related to knowledge or time? Secondly, are you answering all the questions in each section?

As for the OG, the difficulty level of the OG progresses as you progress through the questions in each section (i.e. toughest being at the end), so to state that the difficulty level of the OG isn't the same as GMATPrep is not an apples to apples comparison. The GMATPrep software will present you with questions based on your response to the previous question, so if you got a 700+ question right the next question would be tougher or in the same ballpark. To put it concisely, the difficulty level of the OG progresses in a linear fashion whereas the difficulty level of GMATPrep questions progress based on a proprietary algorithm.

The true purpose of the OG is to acquaint you with the kind of questions that come on the GMAT at varying levels of difficulty. It is not intended to be a comprehensive guide to cracking the exam. I would point you in the direction of the MGMAT Strategy Guides if that's what you're looking for.

Hope this was helpful!
