Full disclosure: it's going to be an uphill battle. Improving verbal quickly isn't easy.

How many hours per day do you have to dedicate to studying? How much verbal studying have you done so far?

Is there a specific section of yours that is weaker than the others? What type of verbal score are you gunning to get?

My most immediate piece of advice for you (without knowing the answers to the questions above) would be to just do as many verbal questions as you possibly can. All of the verbal sections require you to develop a certain degree of "feel" to perform well in them, which in my opinion can only be developed through practicing a LOT of questions. This is especially true of CR and RC sections, where the strategies you apply (find the purpose, summarize the paragraphs, constructing the syllogism, etc) are absolutely critical to answering correctly.

As for SC, if you've read the Manhattan textbook, I would think you have a solid "base" for SC theory. Again, just do as many SC questions as you possibly can. I would work through the GMATClub "list of 150 hardest/easier SC questions". Start with the easy ones, then work your way up to the 700+s. And be sure to review your answers to every single question you are unsure about, or got wrong. (Review questions using GMATClub posts - they typically provide a more intuitive explanation of answers than OG explanations do)

Thank you for your reply.

In Sc, I am able to solve some questions very easily ( 700 level) and i am not able to solve some (500 level) questions also. My SC is not steady. The same is the case with CR and RC, but in CR I am doing better compared to others at this point.

I am trying to find a pattern or schedule to to prepare the Verbal so that if i am not able to score this time i will keep doing it so that i can get better score next time.

I have hard time understanding the flaw in my preparation.

Hi Neelakant,

Today, GMAC announced that some changes are going to be made to the format of the Exam - there's a discussion thread about that here:

https://gmatclub.com/forum/gmat-is-chan ... 62569.html

Since some of the specifics are not yet known, it's going to take a bit of time for all of the available practice resources (including the available practice CATs) to reflect these changes to the Exam. Thus, while the question types, content tested and Tactics will all be the same, everyone's going to need some time to properly adjust to the new format and 'feel' of the Exam.

Before I can offer you the specific advice that you’re looking for, it would help if you could provide a bit more information on your timeline and your goals:

1) What is your goal score?
2) When are you planning to take the GMAT?
3) When are you planning to apply to Business School?
4) What Schools are you planning to apply to?

Rich

Thanks to new GMAT structure change, I rescheduling my exam free of cost.

Thank you Rich for the reply. Below are my responses.

1) What is your goal score? 730
2) When are you planning to take the GMAT? June 29.
3) When are you planning to apply to Business School? If I am able to get the score i need i will apply for fall 2019 (2021 batch).
4) What Schools are you planning to apply to? I am from NC. I am looking for schools near by. UNC, Darden, Emory, George Washington, may be Duke ( if i over achieve my score)

Now I have 3 months of time to prepare. I want to plan and improve my verbal ability.

I can spare 20 hours per week on an average. If needed I can increase my preparation per week.

Thank you.
Neel
