this is going to be a long post...but I really need some guidance...
I took the test recently, and I am very confused about a lot of things...
on June 1st, 2018 I scored a 540 q36 v28 IR3 AWA4.5 ----> this is my third attempt...pfa ESR
before that in Jan 2017, I had scored a 580 q36 v34 IR3 AWA3
and in May 2016 I had scored a 470 q25 v30 IR1 AWA4.5

last three months were months were heavy on verbal in terms of prep and I spent only the last 2 and half weeks of May to study for quant, so i didn't have any great expectations on that front
verbal Approachdaily timed sets of 2 rcs, 5 crs, 5 scs- in a timed set up to help me improve timing and to review for errors
+5 sc 5 cr from
error log...on a daily basis
so on a weekly basis that's a minimum of 70 crs, 70 scs, 14 rcs ----not including the CATs
over 3 months time
redid 1 concept of quant and 1 concept of verbal on a daily basis and solved 8-12 questions for that particular subtopic too... on a daily basis
material used: lsat and official ----mostly official
for concept and strategy - empower, powerscore for cr, gmatninja, sc manhattan, ron purewal, gmatclub forum posts, spoke to some users who were kind enough to advise me
Gnpth abhimahna and
gmatexam439average time taken per section on actual test + subsection scores as per esrCR 16 1:55 | RC 27 2:15 | SC 37 1:15
PS 40 2:00 | DS 29 1:52 | ARITHMETIC 44 2:23 | ALG/GEOM 29 1:23
Difficulty level of practice sets at home50% questions were 600-700
50% questions were 700+ level
my average accuracy levels(daily practice/not CATs) for the month of may were CR 600-700 64% ---------> on actual test as per ESR I scored
16...which is quite a shocker I guess considering my practice scores on official of CATs were
32, 38 700+ 50%
SC 600-700 75% --------> on actual test as per ESR i scored
37....practice scores on offical CATs were
34 and 41 700+ 66%
RC 600-700 73% ----------> on actual test as per ESR i scored
27...practice scores on official CATs were
40 and 37 700 + 60%
which granted isn't great...but not one that deserves a score of v28(i think)These are my CAT scores for month of MayMay 7th GMATCLUB(new format) Only Quant 43
May 10th Kaplan (new format) 600 v35 q39
May 12th gmatprep official software(old format) 640 v38 q39 --- exam pack 2
May 15th gmatprep official software(old format) 620 v35 q39 -- exam pack 1
May 22nd Manhattan(new format) (only attempted verbal section) scored 23
May 26th official gmatprep online(new format) 700 v40 and q46
May 30th official gmatprep online(new format) 640 v33 q44
June 1st OFFICIAL CAT at the center- 540 v28 q36
a thing to note that I have retaken the official practice CATs, but I kept a gap in the month of April and didn't do any official practice CATs in that month so that I forget the questions by the time I start taking them in May.
I took from 1 -2 CATs on a weekly basis for 3 monthsIn my first GMAT attempt in May 2016, I'd scored a v30 and I hadn't touched the verbal section when I took this attempt...I doubt it's luck, cause my verbal performance has been pretty much consistent...if you look at my CAT scores, except for a red flag in one of the Manhattan CATs, I shouldn't be scoring below a v30...it's even more shocking cause I studied dedicatedly for 3 months almost exclusively for verbal...
this is why my verbal score is really confusing me...
can someone explain what went wrong?
this is my understanding... i was nervous but not so much that it would've impacted my score, so I don't know what role stress has played into this, I am considering I made a lot of silly mistakes...also I am clearly not very good standardized testing OR the verbal section is now way tougher and the practice CATs, including the free online one don't reflect the actual scores you will get on the test OR all of this

June 1st I had my official CAT at the center scored 540 v28 q36
June 2nd I took another Manhattan CAT at home and scored a 530 v28 q36 --- exact score break of my official test score...I could've underperformed cause of fatigue...

Even in case of quant it's kind of weird...
subsection scores for quant on practice gmatprep CATs taken in May were as follows:

the overall

a little background on me: I'm a non native, I work as a copy writer and a content creator. I'm an English literature graduate(Mumbai University) and post-grad in Philosophy(Mumbai univ) . I took up commerce for 11th and 12th, but moved to Arts in degree college...I have done quite poorly in math throughout middle and high school.

so I am now considering revising all strategies...and do 80% of 700 level questions...and rely on Manhattan for scoring prediction instead of the official CATs
I also feel pretty lost like I need someone to guide me through this...cause I think I don't understand the test so much now...
what do you think I should do? my target score is 680+ I think I can achieve it...if I get the right guidance and use the right resources...
