This is regarding myself preparing for GMAT.
I am a govt. official in Govt. of India and am 30 yrs old with 4 years of experience. Should i opt for gmat and leave my job. Is there any future in GMAT for officials like me.
I would also like to know how much it is going to cost for studying abroad in USA or Europe. What are the best business schools for me should i opt for GMAT.
Also i would like to share that i have scored 99+ percentile in CAT before with 99.96 in quant. I expect a good near 700 score in GMAT as i am preparing for it.
How much salary should i expect as being new to private job and new to business. Kindly advice impartially.
Hi 11Vivek,
Please find below the answers to your questions, in order:
1. I will never suggest you to leave your job unless and untill u get admit to a college of your choice or caliber. Prepare for GMAT alongwith your job..Trust me, it can be done as I have seen it for myself, u just need to manage ur time well.
2. Future depends on your interests, ur passion and ur skills. There is no such thing as govt officials or corporate executives in the long run.
3. For pursuing and MBA from Europe or US, be ready to shelve out around 1 Cr. If you are lucky enough, u may get scholarships but that totally depends on your merit and needs.
4. Since u got a good score in quant in ur CAT exam, i assume that you have a fairly good quant skills. But dear friend, dnt just rely on that, becoz GMAT quant is a bit different ,especially the DS section. U can get a good command over it with some practice.
5. Salary is an important consideration while thinking about future prospects. But,I must say, as of now, U should be more focussed towards getting an admit in a good school, and gain quality skills. U will definitely be earning way more than ur present salary working in govt sector, depending on the school and the passion u exhibit
