Hello - Please help!
I have to answer a question in my application -
what's your greatest setback or regret in your life? What have I learnt from it?
To answer genuinely - I don't have any regret academically or professionally. There are just small ups and downs.
But I do have regret about a close family member's relationship - about which I still feel very sad and regret it from the core of my heart. What I could have done then was to "voice my feelings aloud and clear", which I didn't do then. I have learnt my lesson.
I am not very comfortable about talking on this topic (in case they ask me about it in the interview) - also it can be perceived differently in Indian society (an "Indian" filter does exist for my application).
My best friend who is helping me to write my essays says it's perfect to write it, as it's real and honest.
My question is, should this remain in my application, or should I cook up a story?
How will this be perceived by the admissions community? Does this affect "professionalism" in the application?
