Hello,
I took the GMAT today and would love to get some feedback on my profile and how well (or not) I am placed for the colleges I have shortlisted. I am a working professional and only looking for part time programs.
Below is a brief snapshot of my profile:
Ethnicity/Location - 29 years old Indian male, have been working in US for over 5 years.
GMAT - 730 (Q49,V40), IR - 7, No AWA score yet as I took the exam today, shouldn't be outrageous.
Academics - B.Tech (Electronics & Comm) from a non IIT/NIT college in India with 71% marks.
Work Experience - I have a total 7.5 years work experience primarily in IT consulting. I am currently working as a Solution Architect for an IT consulting (non Big-4) company. I am primarily involved in Business Intelligence strategy and implementation work. I have worked for multiple clients from multiple domains (Retail, Healthcare, Oil & Gas etc.). I have managed teams (onsite/offshore), delivery and also have been heavily involved in pre-sales and sales cycles.
I have always been a top performer in the organizations I have worked for. I have received multiple awards for performance and have been promoted very frequently. Also, I am currently one of the highest paid in my peer group (compared to friends working for Big-4 IT consulting firms). I am well placed to gain another promotion next year and bump my salary by another 10-15%. I am mentioning the salary part to lead to my question, whether the fact that I can fully financed my degree has any bearing on my application.
Extra Curricular - This is the weakest part of my application as I have got not much to show for it. I was involved in some of the administration and committees when I was in college, but it has never been my primary focus. I would like to know how much negative impact this will have on my application.
Target Schools - Haas, Mccombs, Booth, Kellogg and Foster (TMMBA). I can consider some other schools as well if I can't get into these, but Foster and Mccombs are my safe schools (I could be wrong about that).
So, based on above, I would love some feedback on 1) when should I start applying? and 2) What are my chances for the schools mentioned above?.
Thanks in advance
