Hello Jon,
Please can you review my profile and advise. I currently live in the UK
GMAT
I got 540 in my first try and i stupidly did not cancel it. Aiming for retake at the end of this month and target is about 680
MBA School-
INSEAD (Dec 2016),- (Mainly European Schools)
Education
Bachelors in Architecture - Second Class Lower GPA 3.3 on a 5.0 scale
Masters in Project Management
Work
Construction & Energy Industry (FTSE 100 and CAC Conglomerates)
At the time of matriculation, I would be having about 8 years working experience in project management & project co-ordination
Responsible for the successful delivery of projects with budgets from £500 to £7m
Currently planning the front end engineering of a £3bn refinery
Directly managed a project teams of about 30 people (in diverse trades)
Acted as senior project manager for Northern project team
Extra- Curricular
Head of Red Cross members (team of 45 people) while doing my National Service
Financial secretary for my Faculty (about 2500 students). Increased revenue generation methods and reduced "lost" revenue streams.
Why MBA
I want to go back to Nigeria to participate in the Energy sector with specific reference to Power Generation & Transmission. Help draw in foreign investors, increased access to capital & create additional revenue streams.

Hey there,
So overall your profile has tons of potential. You have leadership on big projects, and from a rare country, and in an excellent industry.
Well the first question is of course the GMAT, and I would hesitate to say anything before we see what happens with your GMAT (on which I wish you the best of luck!). I mean it's not so helpful to say: well, if XXX and if yyy and if... Instead do as good as you can on the GMAT, and let's see. The one thing to think about is strategy though: What happens if... Meaning if you don't get that GMAT score you want. Will you apply to slightly lower ranked schools? Would you prefer to not do an MBA and move forward through promotions?
The one big X-factor is that as a Nigerian candidate, you are a rare bird. Which will make them interested in you. Of course, you can't expect charity from schools if your GMAT or grades or profile is not strong, but what is toes mean, is that you have an off shot to make it in EVEN with a relatively low GMAT - depending especially I would say on your effectiveness at your workplace, the strength of your goals, and your commitment to the community.
So right now, just kill that GMAT. Use ALL the materials, take a course, get a private tutor, invest all the energy time and money necessary in that test. It will be your biggest payoff.
